Project Description

The wearable EEG (electroencephalogram) is a device based on smart textiles for self-managed sleep monitoring and assessment.

Wearable EEG development

Sleep is essential for our health, but sleep disorders are prevalent worldwide. Existing sleep diagnostics are intrusive for patients and expensive for health systems. Accurate monitoring requires at least one night in a sleep laboratory or a time-consuming setup by technicians. As a result, waiting times for diagnostics are often longer than six months, which denies many patients an effective treatment.

The wearable EEG is a comfortable sleep monitoring device that can assess everyone's sleep at home. This technology will lower the threshold for sleep diagnostics and bring sleep medicine closer to patients.
Wearable EEG for Sleep Monitoring

The goal of this project is to commercialise a wearable EEG device based on smart textiles for self-managed sleep monitoring.

SmartX support

The role of SmartX support is to help bring the technology from prototype to production. SmartX will connect the project's developer with experienced partners all across Europe, ensuring that the most advanced textile technologies can make their way into the final product.
